On January 21, 2021, the Rising Arbitrators Initiative (RAI) will host Claudia Salomon in one of her first events since the announcement that she will become the President of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) International Court of Arbitration.

Ms. Salomon will become the first woman President of the ICC Court in its almost 100-year history on July 1, 2021. She is currently an independent arbitrator, specializing in international, investor-state and complex commercial disputes and is widely recognized as one of the leading arbitration practitioners of her generation. Until recently, she was Partner and Global Co-Chair of Latham & Watkins’ International Arbitration Practice, where she was engaged in some of the most complex, high value and significant disputes. She has acted as arbitrator and counsel in arbitrations around the globe, under all of the major arbitral rules, governed by common law and civil law.

Following introductory remarks by RAI Executive Committee Member Flávia Mange, RAI founders Rocío Digón, Ana Gerdau de Borja, and Alexander G. Leventhal will lead a discussion with Ms. Salomon about her career, her plans for the ICC, and her views on the world of arbitration. Advisory Council Co-Chair Yves Derains will close the event with conclusory remarks.
