Guilherme Carneiro Monteiro Nitschke is a Partner at TozziniFreire Advogados, specializing in complex litigation, domestic and international arbitration, and contract negotiation. He worked in 2015/2 as a visiting associate (category “juriste”) at Dechert (Paris) LLP, in the international arbitration team. He is one of the Directors of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr), Executive Secretary of the ICC Brazil Commission on Arbitration and ADR and the current General Secretary of CAF (Arbitration Chamber of FEDERASUL). He holds a PhD in Civil Law from the University of São Paulo (2018), with a thesis on incomplete contracts and filling gaps in contracts, approved with vote of praise, honour and recommendation for publication, and rewarded as the Best Thesis in Civil Law at USP (2018, "Prêmio Excelência"); and a Master's degree from the University of Rio Grande do Sul (2011), with a dissertation about hardship in international contracts, arbitration and comparative law. He is a Professor in several postgraduate courses. In 2018, Guilherme attended the 46th Edition of the IADC Trial Academy at Stanford Law School.
